Sarah Hanson and family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jolene Hardwick and I am fundraising for Sarah Hanson and her family. The Hanson family has been in Central Oregon for decades. The legacy of their roots are back from feeding most of Central Oregon owning the Original Pantry that is now The McKay cottage and also the Victorian Pantry which now is the Victorian cafe. This family has been through loss, gain, healing and courage. At this time I am asking for a major CALL TO ACTION over them. I have set up a meal-train so we can feed them a couple times a week but I have also set this goal high and I know we can max it and more.
I am asking that each of you donate a dollar or I challenge you to donate a large chunk of money to help support this family. I am also going to ask that each of you share with friends, neighbors, church family/friends, schools and all over St Charles Health System, as Sarah has worked there for 21 years as of 10/2/23!!!
Words from Sarah:
Hi friends and family,
This is Sarah Hanson. It is with an extremely heavy heart to be telling my story.
I very recently was devastated with a diagnosis of triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. Its a very aggressive breast cancer. It appears to be around stage 2/3. I was told that it is curative. Thank God!!! But I have a year long rough road ahead of me. My 1st heartbreak was telling my husband and two wonderful kids who adore me more than anything. I wish I could take that moment away. The hardest thing I have ever done. So please send them love!!
I have been asked many questions so this might help.
My first line of treatment is 6 months of weekly chemotherapy. Along with this gut punch I was told that my place of employment (the hospital of over 20 years) it is too risky of an environment to continue working. For everyone that knows me, knows that work is my sanity!! It is my social life and I work with some of my best friends. I'm gonna miss it!
As if it's not bad enough to get cancer now my life is turned upside down!!
After chemotherapy I will have surgery. The type of surgery hasn't been determined yet. Then from surgery hopefully no more chemotherapy.
I will follow up with what looks like daily radiation. (not sure how long) last up will be more infusions. This is my journey and I really appreciate all the love and support. Please feel free to reach out. It puts a smile on my face.
There is also other ways to help and support the Hanson family:
