Sarah Gonnella

Hi my name is Monica, my friend and coworker Sarah has hit on a devastating hardship in her life. On Thanksgiving night she was admitted to the hospital for a bad infection in her right foot. Sarah is diabetic and she thought she might lose like 2 toes due to the infection.

Sadly she found that they needed to take the whole foot. Sarah started out at Wyoming Fairview (beds are full due to covid patients) but needing a post-OP bed she had to be transferred to HCMC.

HCMC acted fast and at 2am Sarah had emergency surgery for about 3 hours, they removed her foot. They needed to act fast to save her life, due to the infection spreading. She is being takin care of by the wonderful staff at HCMC.

With a couple more surgeries to clean and tidy everything up and prepare her for the next stages. Learning to use crutches and then eventually getting a prosthetic after healing and physical therapy. Sarah will be out of work for a unseen amount of time. There will be no income for a bit. So if you are able to help Sarah in anyway. I know the holidays are here, and times are tough all around.
