UPDATE: People have already been so generous, and I am so close to getting a wheelchair accessible van! Someone who lives near me is selling their already equipped wheelchair accessible van for 6,000. All I would need to do is cover the hand controls, which I would be able to do with what has already been donated! Please help, if you can! I will be able to take my kids out, etc without fear of falling or my legs going out!

Hi friends near and far. I’m hoping to get help with getting a power wheelchair accessible van. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2004, and unfortunately the disease has progressed to the point that I need to use a wheelchair if I’m going to walk more than a few steps. I’ve struggled for a long time, not wanting to ask for help with this, but I have to accept that I truly do need the help. I have a power wheelchair, but no way to safely transport it. I have 2 amazing teens that help in every way they can. My only income now is Social Security/ disability, but prior to this disease, I had a very full filling and successful career as a social worker. My joy has always come from helping others, and it is very difficult for me to ask from help. Please only give if you can afford it and share with as many people as you can. I don’t need a brand new van, just one with a way to get the wheelchair in and out. If everyone just donated a dollar, it would add up quickly! Any extra funds will go to getting hand controls installed and helping with medical bills and supplies. Much love and peace to everyone!
