Hi, my name is Todd, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my wife, Sarah. Several weeks ago after several trips to urgent care and the ER, Sarah was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer. She will begin chemotherapy and radiation therapy in the upcoming weeks. While doing the work ups and tests they also discovered a thyroid disorder which needs to be addressed before or during her cancer treatments. She’s metabolizing her pain management meds quickly and is experiencing agonizing pain most of the time. The doctors are trying to tune in and adjust her pain management. The initial shock has worn off and turned into anxiety and anxiousness, and helplessness. It pains me to see a loved one experiencing so much physical pain and not being able to help other than words of comfort.

Sarah is the backbone of our business, she keeps us informed, organized and is the unseen hand behind the scenes. Her presence will be missed while undergoing treatment. I will be taking some time off from guiding to accompany her to her treatments initially. Thankfully most of her treatment can take place here in central Washington with occasional trips to her oncologist in seattle. I will be taking over her roles to keep the other guides on the water as possible, as I won’t be guiding as much.

The mounting medical debt and inability to work for the foreseeable future is daunting. Several people have reached out and offered to help in anyway they can. We are creating this go fund me as an avenue as many people have asked. We are turning to our friends and family.
