I am an outgoing, lover of life, enjoy my friends, meeting new people and raising my kids. My two older children are now self sufficient but my amazingly smart empathic son, Trace who is 9 is my lifeline, and I am his, as he has no father.
Earlier this year I finally had health insurance after 8 years and decided to have a physical and with my age of 51 that required a mammogram which was no surprise considering my age and family history.
What was a surprise was that although I was diagnosed with Stage 1 nothing has been as simple as I expected with my limited understanding of breast cancer.
I have now had a double mastectomy (November 24) and thought it was the end of the cancer but suddenly it is not. I am know facing 3 to 12 months of chemo. Losing my hair is no big deal but paying the $8000 deductible and out of expenses is very concerning. I LOVE my job but I am self employed and a single Mom.
I am NOT used to ever asking for help, but I am now. Please consider anything, even $5 would make a difference.
