Hi my name is Lauren Rathbun and my dear friend Sarah Fee was diagnosed with breast cancer on December 9, 2022. This diagnosis halted her relocation to South hero Vermont in December. Since Sarah‘s diagnosis we have been traveling over an hour each way for several appointments a week. An appointment with her plastic surgeon last week was very informative and we now know that she is looking at having a mastectomy possibly as early as next week. Following the surgery she will need time to heal for 3 to 4 weeks prior to radiation treatment which will be another 4 to 6 weeks. Post radiation will be more time to heal prior to reconstruction surgery should that be the path she chooses to take. At this time she does not feel she can make that decision. To top all of this off she will also be in the first couple of months of Menopause given she is ER/PR+ (= estrogen & progesterone “feed” her type of breast cancer)

Given her recent diagnosis along with unreliable vehicle, unstable housing, and lack of an income Sarah has reluctantly agreed to asking for help.

She would never ask anyone for anything, but I'm here to ask for a donation whether it be big or small, and if you do not have any spare funds I ask you to keep her in your thoughts for the next few months.
