Sarah English Memorial Statue

Donation protected
Our hearts have been broken by the untimely death of 8 year old Sarah English. Sarah left her earthly home on April 27, 2021, and was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after suffering severe injuries from a vehicle accident.

Sarah was a third grader at Thrasher Elementary where she was known for her kindness and friendship. She received the Panther Pride award every year and was a member of the Signal School for Physical Education. She was a bright, fun loving child who enjoyed swimming, gymnastics, attending church and being with her friends. She especially loved spending time with and taking care of her two dogs, Luke and Karma. Sarah was a member of The Point Church at Signal where just last year, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized into the family of God.

Thrasher Elementary School will be honoring Sarah's memory by planting a dogwood tree at the front of school property before the end of the school year. Sarah's friends and neighbors would like to add to the school's memorial by donating a bronze statue to be placed near the tree, with a plaque at the base. The statue is a sweet girl with pigtails, chasing behind her dog on a leash...reminiscent of Sarah chasing her lab, Ford - the dog that she grew up with!

The school welcomes the addition of this beautiful piece of art and will have a special ceremony to honor Sarah, at which time the statue will be presented to the school.  Besides Sarah's family, all those who helped fund the purchase of the statue will be invited to attend. Currently, the school is planning for that ceremony to take place in the Fall when school starts back. Also at that memorial service, we will present John and Cara with a list of names of all those who donated. If the amount of funds raised exceeds our goal amount, we will divide the extra funds and give them to John and Cara.

The bronze statue will be coming from the Corey James Art Gallery in Highlands, North Carolina. It measures 4 feet tall and 4.5 wide.

Please join in with this effort to create a memorial for Sarah English - a memorial that we hope will bring comfort to Sarah's friends and classmates, and will also uplift John and Cara as they grieve the loss of their only child.

Thank you so much.
