If you were one of the lucky ones that got to know Sarah Myers, then you truly know the definition of an angel on Earth.  Sarah was a light in this world for so many people.   People were drawn to her infectious smile and would feel at ease, even after just meeting her.   She made everyone feel so insanely comfortable.

Sarah was the kind of person that loved big and made sure you knew/felt that love.   She showed it in both her words and actions.  She told me once that "acts of service" were her love language, and it was without a doubt true.  She was the kind of person that would drop everything and come to your aid when needed.  She was the friend that would reach out and check on you in times of need.  She was the friend that opened her home to you, bought your favorite snacks and would pack your lunch for you while you slept for a night shift.

Her role in the NICU was unmatched; she displayed such empathy and compassion to each patient and family.  Just look at her Facebook feed at how many patients were truly touched by her.   A colleague said, her "skills as a nurse practitioner coupled with her passion were what we all embody to be and become & wish for our child to be cared by."-- and that could not have been said any better.   She always listened when you had concerns about a baby and you always felt like everything was going to be alright when she was at your bedside.  She was always willing to teach new nurses with time and patience.  She was also the NNP that took time with the families and infants - she would even come give baths, feed babies, change diapers or even just snuggle when she had the time. The entire NICU community is hurting from this loss.

Her family was her pride and joy.  She loved her boys - Trey, Jakey and Gabe - immensely.  She was always so proud of them and loved to show off pictures and videos.   Our thoughts go out to them as they navigate their lives without their biggest cheerleader.

Our hearts are all broken as we try to comprehend the loss of such a truly amazing and special person.  The world was more beautiful with her here.

If you feel inclined please make a donation - I'd like to provide the family with some financial support for this unforeseen situation.  And if enough is raised, I'd love to make a special donation to each of the NICUs she blessed in her honor/memory.

As soon as I have information on funeral services I will update.

We love you immensely Sarah. And you are so missed already.
