In Memory of Mum Sarah – Honouring Her Legacy

14 years ago, our mum, Sarah, faced a life-changing stroke. In that moment, doctors gave her just one hour to live. Through prayer, determination, and the power of healing, she fought against all odds and went on to live many joyful, meaningful blessed years. For this we are eternally grateful.

After her stroke, she was left paralysed on her left side, with little function, confined to bed and chair. With the tireless support of dedicated caregivers, she continued to battle through life’s challenges, never losing her indomitable spirit.

Before her stroke, Mum was the vibrant life and soul of her community and huge family. Whether it was a neighbour’s child or a family member in need, she was always ready to put others first, selflessly giving and sharing the fruits of her labour.

We also sadly lost our father in December, two weeks before Christmas and just buried him on 25th January 2025. As you can imagine the compounded grief has been extremely heavy for us.

In the coming weeks, as we bid our final farewell, we are raising funds to help cover her funeral expenses and support her children and wider family as we navigate life without her guiding light.

In honour of the miracle that saved her and the care that played a crucial role in her recovery, a portion of the funds will be donated to the King’s College Hospital Stroke Unit. This contribution will help support vital stroke care services and research, ensuring that others receive the compassionate, life-saving treatment that helped Mum overcome her darkest hour.
