Hi All,

My name is Jennifer Frick, and I am hoping to help raise funds for one of my very dearest, best friends, Sarah. (This is account is under my husbands name due to my own GFM account being outdated, apparently!)

Sarah and I have been friends since the 4th grade.

She is the friend, (I'm sure, to each and every single one of you reading) who remembers the details! She remembers the story you told her, who wronged you, what your cat is allergic to, and your favorite things to buy.

She knows your birthday, your husband's birthday, your child's birthday and your wedding anniversary.

She knows how to make you laugh when you're sad, and when you're mad.

Sarah is a cornerstone in my life- always able to cut through the mess and straight to the chase- she is one of the smartest, strongest, and most supportive people I know!

I know that by now you've already nodded your head and smiled at least twice, remembering something she said or did that caught you off guard over the years. Her sparkly blue eyes locked on yours while she tells a story- or promises to be the mean friend for your child.

Sarah is a whole entire treasure for me, and all those who love her- and then, theres Allie.

The precious little miracle girl that Sarah thought she would never get to have...but she did!

Sarah, and Allie, need our support.

For months, Sarah and I have lamented over perimenopause symptoms- how the curse of being a woman never ever seems to end- how different life is now, than when we were just little fourth graders, highschoolers, or twenty somethings. Night sweats are miserable, sleeping is difficult, weight gain is real, and lately, she just hadn't been feeling too great over all.

More recently, Sarah was experiencing a persistant chest pain- and when someone as tough as Sarah decides to go see a doctor- much less check in at the ER, you know something is really going on.

It was that night that we found out she had a "cell phone sized" tumor around her aorta- which was precisely where Sarah was feeling the pain.....as the health care system does-......they sent.her.home.

Days later- and with the urging of her PCP, it was determined that Sarah had a much more serious issue going on-Cancer.... and then we had to wait for what exactly that meant as far as the stage, the treatment, the port, the followup, all the of the flood of information you wait for, impatiently, especically when its scary........and so, ....here we are.

Sarah has the information, and just went public with her new chapter today, June 24th.

Gratefully, the cancer seems easily treatable, there is a plan in place, and hopefully our girl will be back to health this time next year.

As Sarah has processed the information at hand, of course, Allie has been her main concern. As the shock has worn off, groceries, bills, school supplies for next year, getting to treatment....the onslaught of real life worries that don't go away, no matter the diagnosis have hit.

I am setting up this account for Sarah and Allie to cover all the little things that Sarah cannot take care of while she is out of work. Sarah is awaiting her benefits to kick in, she has applied for everything available, but things take time to take effect.

Sarah will not be able to work in the hospital environment due to her weakened immunity, and her position is not one that can be done remotely. She has been assured she will have her position available when she is healthy and able to go back safely! Lord willing, she would like to try and work part time while she takes treatments, but everything, at this point, is up in the air, as we are unsure how her body will respond to treatment.

Sarah is believed to be at stage 3 and has PET scan Wednesday (tomorrow) to learn more. Her cancer is believed to be slow growing- which makes sense, with how long she had symptoms she attributed to other things- and is also considered a positive diagnosis. This is a lymphoma, and it is in various places. Treatment will be 6 months, at least, and will come with all of the miserable side effects we all know about. (Yes, we've already talked about how she *must* buy a red wig- (I will attach the Halloween photo that rocked the internet, in case you didnt see it!) Sarahs final plan will be ready to roll on next Monday, and so we are just in a holding pattern of ironing out all of the details until then.

Any donation she can throw towards gas, monthly bills, Allie, and the new medical bills (that will make it to her inbox before her first treatment is administered!) is more than appreciated.

Sarah would also love to be added your churches prayer list, and your personal prayers. Cancer comes along with a healthy dose of fear, and uncertainty for the future, and we all know those aren't conducive emotions to healing, so pray for peace, faith, and the best doctors to make her feel safe, heard, and cared for. At the end of the day, we just need to kill this cancer. We have to leave that part up to the doctors and modern medicine, but we can help her survive the stress part.

A meal train hasn't been decided on yet- as we don't know how her body will respond to the medications- (nausea and taste changes) but I am thinking on that, as well as other ideas!
