The Eaton Fire has tragically destroyed many homes, including the home of my friends Sarah and Jim in beautiful upper Altadena. My name is Jodi, and I met Sarah through riding at our local community park about 10 years ago, and she has grown into one of my best friends. Sarah is my riding partner, and she is the first one to dive in when others need help, including helping other equestrians evacuate from fires.

Jim and Sarah had created a quiet little oasis that they happily shared with friends, family, dogs, and horses. Like so many families in Altadena, they got out with next to nothing as they prioritized getting the horses and the dogs to safety before the fire consumed their home.
