Hello, my name is Sarabeth Johnson and I graduated from CSUF in Fall of 2021 with a BA in History. This past year I've been applying to grad programs and while waiting to hear back, I've also applied to an immersive language program over the summer to learn Russian. The way history programs work in grad school is at least 1 year of language prep is required for the field you are interested in (mine being Russian History) so that you can translate sources for research purposes. Unfortunately, CSUF did not offer Russian, so I am left to catch up as much as I can. I was fortunate enough to be admitted to the immersion program, however, it costs a total of $3520 and since I did not get funding, I am working to make up for what I need. I ask for whatever you can give! I set my goal for $2000 because I hope to save at least $1520 myself in the next couple months. If you donate, you would be helping me further achieve goals where hard work does not prove to be enough. These are some of the first steps of my career, and if you were to donate you'd be helping set the foundation for my future.
