Hi! My name is Sara Koffi!
I'm a black content creator and you probably either know me from this:
Or maybe previous projects that I've crowdfunded for in the past. My first project raised exactly...$0. My second project? $1000+, but I quickly learned that, despite one's best efforts, quality sometimes comes at a much higher price. Does that suck? Yes, yes, it does, BUT that's why I'm here! I wanna make something of quality that represents my core commitment to diversity, originality & just really cool ideas getting a chance to shine.
SO, WHAT IS THIS, AGAIN?
Sierra will be a Live Action Sci Fi YA web series that takes place in the near future. In Sierra's world, everyone takes their CNS pills, which stops them from doing anything too impulsive. You know, like inciting violence, falling in love, questioning anything...
Of course, if someone doesn't take their pills and there's a distinct lack of CNS in their system, they'll be "asked nicely" to resume the necessary medication. Sometimes, the people who have been "asked nicely" never quite seem the same again...
After a pill mix-up, Sierra realizes that her dependence on CNS pills might just be a placebo effect. If she concentrates hard enough, she's able to override the pill's effects on her system. But is she the only one? And how long until she does something impulsive? Like try to save her best friend's life?
WAIT WHY DO YOU NEED SO MUCH MONEY?

But on a serious note, I want Sierra to be around 5 episodes long, each being about 10 minutes in length. That's $1000/minute, which might seem extreme, but your favorite films (barring that you love found footage films) have creators that consider $1,000,000 a "low budget feature". In fact, even if you exclusively love web series, budgets still start pretty high. I want Sierra to be a high quality production and I promise that your eyes and ears will thank me when I'm done.
WHY YOU?
Because I realized that if I ever wanted to see more women of color and people of color in genres we're not usually in, I'd have to write the roles and I'd have to create the stories. There's no getting around this. You have to make space for yourself within representation, because sometimes you're the only one who notices that you're not represented.
WHEN WILL WE GET IT?
If the funds are raised by the summer, you're looking at a very nice winter present! (Or potentially even earlier, I might just pull a Beyonce on you.) Keep an eye out for updates!
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU EXCEED YOUR GOAL?
Better graphics. Better locations. Better everything.
