Hi, My name is Amy, and I'm fundraising for Sara Perreault and her partner, Chris Swaggerty. Sara and I became step-sisters as adults when our parents married 8.5 years ago. We lost my dad, Bradley Slater, to COVID less than two weeks ago. Then, early this morning (March 9th), Sara and Chris awoke to their home on fire. They escaped with nothing but the pajamas they were wearing and the shoes on their feet. Three of their four cats got out of the fire, but they lost one of their beloved cats and ALL their possessions. One of the cats needed emergency vet care, and they will have vet bills that need to be paid, as well.

Sara's entire home business was in the basement of the house, which is where the fire started from a faulty power strip.  Everything for her business has been lost: either to fire, smoke, or water damage from the fire department. She now has no way to make an income and will need to start all over. 

 

Sara and Chris live in Kansas. Unfortunately, this means that Sara's mom, Sandra Slater, is two states away in Arizona and is managing her own grief and all of the logistics that come with the loss of my dad, her husband. Fortunately, Sara and Chris are able to stay with Chris' dad in Kansas while they work to get back on their feet, and their vehicles were unharmed in the fire.

 

These are several significant and overwhelming losses in less than two weeks, and now Sara and Chris need to rebuild from the ground up. They lost absolutely everything - clothing, furniture, household items, computers, home office and business equipment, etc...  Please donate what you can, and pray without ceasing as they manage the grief of so much loss and the work of putting their lives back together.
