SAPOF Malawi - Primary School Sponsorship Fund
Donation protected
Hello!
We are Lucy, Magda, and Maddie, and we are currently volunteering with an NGO in Malawi, Africa that works to empower children in their community with aid in receiving an education.
We are raising funds to provide 20 children with primary education for 1 year, at a cost of £37/€45 per child, and this covers:
- Student school fees for 1 year
- School uniform
- Shoes
- School bag
- Student notebooks
- Student pens and pencils
With Christmas around the corner it’s a lovely time to give to those in need. Why not make this your secret Santa gift? Or a present for someone who is impossible to buy for!

More about SAPOF…
Save The Poor Foundation (SAPOF) was founded in 2014 by Alice Chiwaya, a local Malawian woman who is dedicated to giving back to her community.
SAPOF is inspired by the mission to contribute to the improvement of the lives of the vulnerable, marginalised, and impoverished people through improvements in health, education, advocacy, gender equality, and economic empowerment.
SAPOF current programmes are focusing on the areas of child sponsorship through provision of school fees and scholastic material support, provision of school meals to needy learners in response to hunger and in an effort to keep them in school, mentoring services to vulnerable and marginalised children, promotion of women and girls’ rights against child marriage, harmful cultural practices, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services. Furthermore, the organisation provides training and support to women and youth in vocational skills, Village Savings and Loans (VSL), business management, and entrepreneurship skills.
In addition to that, SAPOF have another programme called Keep Girls in School - for more Educated Girls in Blantyre and Ntcheu Districts (KEEP4MEG Project) which aims to reduce school dropouts among girls who have had early pregnancies and in some cases child marriage. This program supports primary and secondary school girls who are single mothers and teenagers by bringing them back to school after giving birth. Just like in the child sponsorship program, SAPOF donates school uniforms, notebooks, school fund, sanitary pads and other things that a girl child needs just to make sure that the girls are well equipped and more focused on their education with all the school necessities.
