The war in Gaza has turned our lives into a long, painful nightmare. What began as a hope to leave and return to university in Egypt to complete my final year of medical school has now completely faded after the invasion of Rafah.

Since launching this campaign over a year and a half ago, we managed to raise €30,000 — but the brutal war consumed it all. We spent it trying to survive, fleeing from one place to another. Nearly half was lost to transfer fees and rising costs. The rest was spent on basic needs, medicine, and keeping our loved ones alive.

Our home is gone. Our family's business — once thriving under my father, a respected engineer and businessman — was reduced to rubble. All of us, graduates of medicine and engineering, are now left with nothing.

Everyone in my family is injured. My sister Mai lost her only child — a beautiful soul taken by this war. She still suffers from a severe injury. My younger brother Haitham is critically wounded and needs urgent medical treatment abroad — without it, he might not survive.

Even our last shelter — a simple tent — was bombed two months ago. Now we live with no roof over our heads, no food, no medicine, and no safety. My father, elderly and ill, suffers daily from chronic illness and malnutrition.

We once had futures, ambitions, and dreams. Now, we simply hope to make it through another day.
