On May 6th, 2025, my world shattered.

My younger brother, just 21 years old—passed away suddenly in Canada, only four months after arriving here to chase a dream that wasn’t just his—it was our father's. His name was more than just a name in our home—it was the sound of laughter, the spark of light in our darkest moments, and the reason my mother and I kept going after life had already taken so much from us.

We were once a family of four. In 2018, we lost our father. I was 17. My brother was just 13. From that day on, it was just the three of us..me, my mom, and my little brother. Our father had always dreamed of seeing both his sons settle abroad and build a better life. After his passing, my brother and I made it our shared mission to fulfill that dream.

I came to Canada in 2020 at the age of 19, and I hadn’t seen my brother in five long years. He finally arrived in Canada just four months ago, and we were counting the days until we could reunite. I live in a different province, and now I’ve come to learn from his friends that he was secretly planning a surprise visit to come see me.

That surprise will never come. That hug, that long-awaited moment we dreamed of for years… is gone.

We sacrificed so much to bring him here. We borrowed heavily, took on debt, and my mother, who still lives in India—gave all she could to support him. He was full of hope, studying hard, making new friends, and spreading joy like he always did. His future had just begun. And just like that, it ended.

We still don’t know why. The autopsy has come back inconclusive, and we are working to find answers. But even if we do, nothing will bring him back.

He wasn’t just my little brother. He was everyone’s reason to smile. A cheerful, kind-hearted soul who helped others without hesitation, even when he had little himself. He brightened every room, every heart, with nothing more than his presence.

Now I am here in Canada alone, and my mother is grieving from afar. We're heartbroken. And on top of that grief, we are facing an overwhelming financial burden:

• Funeral and cremation expenses

• Transportation costs

• Repayment of loans we took to send him here

We are trying to raise **$35,000** to cover these immediate needs and find even a small sense of peace during this devastating time.

If you're reading this, please consider donating. Even a small amount can make a big difference. And if you’re unable to give, please share his story. Help us honor his memory and find support from kind souls around the world.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. Whether you donate or share, you’re helping us hold onto hope in a time of unimaginable loss.

With love,

His grieving brother
