Santiago Soutuyo's Family Fund

Donation protected
This is a fund in memory of Santiago Soutuyo, loving husband to Kimberly and devoted father to Gabi (18) and Mary (16).  He passed away on Saturday, December 10th after a short hospitalization.  He is also survived by his dear parents Josefina and Francisco, his siblings Angel (Melissa) Francisco (Julie), and Carmen (Charlie), nieces and nephews, and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Santi was too young, only 40.  In his short time in this world, he achieved so much but his greatest accomplishment was being a son, husband and most importantly father to his girls.  He was able to see them as beautiful, smart young ladies.  God gave him the chance to see them blossom.  He won't be able to see them through college, marriage and see his future grandchildren but we are sure he is looking down from heaven, snarking at the girls and Kimmy, and always letting them feel his presence, love and compassion in every step they will take through their lives.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking that you help Kim, Gabi and Mary keep his dreams coming true.  They are facing medical bills, funeral expenses and college funding needs for the next few years.  Any contribution will make a difference.  This is a hard thing for them to ask, and thus we as friends are asking on their behalf.  God took Santi away from them before his work was done on this earth.

A little about Santi, if you didn't know him.  He was born January 28th, 1976 to Spanish and Cuban immigrants.  He was raised in Alexandria, graduating from Bishop Ireton and Catholic University.  Even as a leading sales executive, Santi still found time to enjoy coaching his daughters in basketball or soccer, and being a pain in their side at all times possible. During the last few months of his life, unable to work due to the progression of his illness, Santi still found ways to attend Mary’s high school field hockey games in support from the sidelines and staying up late with Gabi to talk about life.

Again, words cannot express the sadness we feel, but we can help support his family and honor his memory by offsetting some of the costs they will endure as they grieve their husband, father, son and brother.
