Santiago F. Mosqueda was born full term on 2/3/25 at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital. He was rushed to the NICU due to a Critical Congenital Heart Defect called Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia. We were told throughout the pregnancy this was a common condition and a simple surgery would save his life. Unfortunately, his case was so severe that by his second day of life he was unstable, and Loma Linda did not feel comfortable/confident surgery would work, and he was too unstable to be transferred to another hospital.
We kept him on max medical support for a total of 6 days, and once he was diagnosed with a 2nd grade brain bleed and still unstable, surgery was off the table even if he stabilized for transfer due to the brain bleed. We decided to move him to comfort care where he passed away on 2/9/25 at 3:49 am.
We were not prepared to say goodbye, have all these medical bills, and a cremation bill on top of everything. The hospital did not provide any kind of help with funeral or memorial services/expenses. We are asking for any kind of help as we have racked up our credit cards trying to get everything settled and bills just keep coming in.
Anything helps at this time. Even just a share or thoughts and prayers. All positive things to help us be strong during these coming months.
