My Boxing Journey – By Santiago Wood

Hi, my name is Santiago Wood, and I’m 11 years old. I started boxing when I was just 9 years old as a way to stay busy after school. What began as something to keep me active quickly became something I truly love and have a deep passion for.

Over the past two years, I’ve trained hard and pushed myself every day to get better. I’ve been traveling to gyms all around Sacramento to spar with other fighters and learn from every match. In 2024, I officially registered with USA Boxing and became an amateur fighter. Since then, I’ve had 10 fights—9 wins and just 1 loss.

Most recently, I competed in the Junior Golden Gloves of California and won the tournament for my age and weight division. Because of that win, I’ve been invited to represent California at the Golden Gloves Nationals in Tennessee this summer!

This is a huge opportunity for me, and I’m training harder than ever to be ready—but I need some help to get there. I’m looking for donations to help cover the cost of:
