41 Mile Santa Walk from Hutton to RMCH
Donation protected
My name is Mark (Georges Dad) and here is a little story behind the charity walk.
George was diagnosed with T Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in March 2022 and has spent a lot of time in hospital over the last 18 months and continues to spend a lot of time back and forth from hospital appointments on a weekly basis. Recently George has been diagnosed with Auto Immune Neutropenia alongside his battle with Leukaemia therefore more hospital appointments, more needles and feeling unwell. This condition means George has no immune system to fight infection resulting in him being isolated again, missing more school and social activities with friends and family. Therefore, we have been coming up with ways to raise funds for George to help with additional treatments and the oncology ward in Manchester.
So I have decided to walk from our family home in Hutton to Manchester on the 23rd December which is around 40 miles (12 hours) dressed as Santa. Some amazing friends have agreed to join me on the journey, these being Paul, Ryan, Anthony, Dave, Alex and a few others.
My family will greet us in Manchester and we will give gifts to the children on the ward who will be spending the lead up to Christmas and Christmas day in hospital as George did last year (fortunately he was lucky to get home in the morning).
This walk has been specifically chosen as it is the journey George does all too often.
Please share so we can keep raising funds.
