Şanslı ("Lucky") is Flying to the UK!
Hello kind humans,
My name is Şanslı (“Lucky”), and that’s because I’m somewhat of a miracle.
In my short year on Earth, I’ve lived a lifetime of struggle as a young dog surviving on the streets of Cyprus. Most days, people passed me by - I was just another stray in the locals' eyes. Still, I kept wagging my tail, hoping that someday, someone would see me.
I may be young, but I’m wise. I knew the world could be dangerous for a dog without a home - but I could never have imagined the kind of pain that surged through my body the day I was hit by a speeding vehicle and left for dead.
I remember trying to crawl to safety, but my legs wouldn’t move. My eyes closed from the agony, and the world went completely dark.
It was in this moment, on this day, that someone finally saw me.
They called for help, and it came fast. The humans said I was lucky to have been found - lucky to have survived.
I had a major operation to fix my broken young body. It was all so scary, but I was very brave. I spent weeks in rehab, learning to walk again with the help of kind people. I’ve healed well - and even after everything, I still love humans.
Now, I’ve been offered the greatest gift a stray dog could dream of: a warm home and a family who already love me.
I’ve been given a second chance at life - on a different island, 2,000 miles away.
My flight to the UK, including documents and transport, will cost around £1,700. That’s more than I can carry in my paws. The brilliant rescues and wonderful volunteers here in Cyprus are doing everything they can to fundraise for
my journey.
If you can spare just a little, it would mean the world to me. Every penny brings me closer to my new life - one where I’ll be safe, cherished, and never hurt again.
Thank you for reading my story.
Thank you for caring.
And thank you for helping street dogs like me believe in happily ever afters.
With hope and tail wags,
Şanslı (“Lucky”)
