Sanitary Pads for Liberia-Nellie

No better day to launch this project than on Mother’s Day in honor of our mama dear and all loving mothers in the world!  This is the second year of “Sanitary Pads for Liberia” project and I am requesting assistance from all of my friends, family members, and loved ones to kindly donate to this needed and worthy project.  I undertook this project based on my own personal experience growing up as a young girl/lady in Liberia who could not afford or had no access to sanitary pads. Like most young girls in Liberia, I used towels or cloth as pads whenever I had my menstruation. Using towels or cloth is very painful and creates hygiene/health issues than the sanitary pads!  The lack of sanitary pads also lowers or diminishes the self-esteem of most young girls in Liberia but worst of all, some of them dropped from school or do not attend school when they are menstruating because they feel shame, humiliated, and embarrassed using the towels or cloths. 

I began “Sanitary Pads for Liberia” last year (2020) and I am working with a very trusted, dedicated, and reliable organization in Liberia, The Center for Civic Education and Agriculture Initiative Empowerment/CEA-Empowerment, to implement this project. I raised over $2,000(two thousand dollars) and more than twelve boxes of sanitary pads last year and several young girls benefitted and were very thankful to all of our donors.  The smile on their faces just melted my heart and motivated me to do more. Thanks to all of you who contributed and please help me again to put smile on these young girls/women’s face, improve their self-esteem, and get them back in school regularly.  God bless you!
