SANDY NEEDS A BACK OPERATION URGENTLY. CAN YOU HELP PLEASE?

Sandy dog became suddenly paralysed last week! The vet sent her to a specialist, Sandy has a damaged disc in her back pressing on a nerve in the spine.

Without an operation, her survival rate is 15%, with an op it's 95%!

Sandy and I are both struggling with the shock. In her short life of 9 years, since I adopted her as a rescue, she and I have gone through 2 earlier operations, a cruciate ligament surgery and 18 months ago, a removal of a cancer. We both coped with that, but this is beyond my means!

Sandy was abused before arriving at the shelter, where I adopted her from. If I called her, she ran in the opposite direction. If I raised my hand with something in it, she ran away. After a while, she trusted me and runs to me when I call her.

She's the sweetest most loving dog, greets all who come to the house, looks after the old 16 year old dog, who is partially disabled, and the 14 yr old cat, Coby, and the rescue chickens.

I am retired for some years, and run 2 voluntary groups, one of which is Brisbane Hen Rescue. I give what I can to various animal rescue groups, eg RSPCA, Animals Australia, HSI etc.

I haven't asked for any help before, but as I said, this is beyond my means.

The full cost is $12,000. If I raise more, I will donate to RSPCA, Animals Australia. Your suggestions are welcome.

Sandy deserves another chance at life.
