Sandy found out she had Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in May, 2018. After six months of chemo she thought the cancer was at bay. Unfortunately, a PET scan showed a suspicious area between her lungs. She was scheduled for a biopsy of the area in November. Before the biopsy was completed, Sandy began having episodes requiring several trips to emergency. Her blood pressure and heart rate dropped dramatically, She was unable to breath, vomiting and passing out, a pacemaker was required to keep her heart regulated.
It took four biopsies to discover that the mass is an aggressive form of lymphoma, and was consuming her neck and throat area. Her ability to breathe and speak was getting progressively worse.
In January, Sandy was transported to Medical City Dallas's ICU and almost immediately put on a ventilator. She is currently undergoing chemo and radiation to shrink the mass. In the process, she has suffered possible permanent damage to her vocal cord and wind pipe.
Sandy has been unable to work the last two months and must wait four more months before her disability will begin. During this time, she has no income, her medical bills are mounting, and she must pay her medical insurance premiums to continue her benefits.
The money we are hoping to raise will cover Sandy's bills for the next four months, when, we pray, she will either be able to work or begin receiving her disability.
Sandy's recovery will be long . . . she will need chemo and radiation treatments, as well as physical and speech therapy. She is tough and continues to fight her medical conditions. With your support she can concentrate on getting well, not her financial burden.
Thank you in advance, for your gift and prayers.
