Sandy has been struggling for some time with her mental health and now, unfortunately, life has thrown her some more obstacles.
In October 2023 her father’s health drastically declined overnight and was diagnosed with leukemia. She made the difficult decision to leave her job (because she already used all of her FMLA) to deal with her mental health and to provide her father much needed assistance/care.
As if that wasn’t enough to handle, in February 2024 she was diagnosed with triple positive breast cancer.
With the advice of her mental health providers and medical team, she applied for disability compensation, but the application is still pending. It was also recommended that she reach out to an attorney to help move the process along correctly.
She is not receiving any type of income currently and medical, attorney and general living expenses continue to add up.
Many people asked if there is anything they can do besides words of encouragement, which is definitely needed and deeply appreciated, for her and her family.
An Amazon registry has been set up for anyone who would like to help.
Many people have also reached out about how they can help contribute to other life expenses, so a GoFundMe account has been created.
