Sandstad Family Traveling Experiences

Hi, my name is Marcus and I'm starting a fundraiser for Nora Sandstad and her family. The following is from Nora's Caringbridge (https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/norasandstad):

 

Hey party people! Guess who’s back? It’s triple negative breast cancer!

A little while back I found a weird lump near my belly button, and, long story short, my previous tumor (who you may remember from the dark days of 2016-17 (chemo, lumpectomy and radiation)) has reignited and done some traveling. Spoiler alert: that means it’s metastatic (stage 4) (UFFDA).

So the good news: it could be worse! I still feel healthy (aside from Portia, my super power port that was installed in my chest yesterday). We now have a plan: starting immunotherapy and chemo combo next Tuesday, July 5, 2 weeks on one off, into the fall. And living the hell out of this life, however long it is. So that’s all good.

More good news: you people, my friends and family, are fantastic and wonderfully supportive. I’m working on harnessing all your goodness into an anti-cancer treatment that also makes me appear both youthful and intimidating in the courtroom. In the meantime, we’ll be sharing a list of ways you can help. Well-wishing texts, funny cat videos, smutty book suggestions and happy distractions for Nate and the kids are always welcome.
