Sands United Derby

Hi, I’m Ben.

I run Sands United Derby, a football team made up of dads who have all experienced the heartbreak of baby loss. We’re more than just a team — we’re a support network, a family brought together by shared grief and a determination to turn our pain into purpose.

We’re currently raising funds to support a few meaningful causes. Part of the money will go towards giving back to the NICU Unit at Derby Hospital — a place that has touched many of our lives. We also hope to provide essentials for our team, including equipment and teamwear, especially through the generous support of sponsors.

In addition, we’d love to fund trophies and awards to recognise the dedication and spirit of our players — the dads who show up not just to play, but to heal, remember, and support one another.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us honour our children, support each other, and give back to the community that stood by us.
