We never think we’ll hear or speak the word cancer in reference to our loved ones but here we are. Sandra as some of you know her by, is a wonderful woman!
She’s an ever-devoted single mother to Jacob, amazing friend, loving sister, aunt and daughter. This fantastic lady is a native of San Fernando Valley and has been your server, insurance agent, and florist at one time or another over the years. Sandra has the gift of artistic design and her floral arrangements are simply stunning works of art! Many of you know her from different places all over the valley but More than Waffles restaurant was her base while she perfected her floral craft.
For the last 22 years, as a single mother, Sandra’s life has been devoted to raising, loving and nurturing her son, Jacob. Everything in Sandra’s life came to an abrupt halt in early May of 2018.
Sandra, her family, and loved ones were hit with the devastating news. She was diagnosed with Metastatic Bone Disease with a tumor in her hip, causing debilitating pain. After further tests the doctors informed her that the cancer originated in her right lung. Sandra has always been an independent, self-sufficient woman, never reliant on anyone but herself. She’s a woman to be admired and revered for her courage and strength. Though she rarely asks for help she gives freely of her time, and eagerly assists those in need without hesitation.
Once solely independent, now fully dependent. This fierce lady must now lean heavily on her son Jacob and her family for everything. Sandra has to rely on a walker for mobility and the assistance of others to drive her to her various appointments. For nearly a year, Sandra’s life has been filled with doctor appointments, prescriptions, injections, biopsies, chemo and radiation therapy, scans of this and that and told to wait for the results that take forever to come in. All done in hopes of wiping out the cancer and extending her precious life.
Sandra’s oncologist just informed her that none of the treatments worked and the cancer was aggressively spreading throughout her body. She was told all that they can do for her is to have a hospital bed sent over to her home and a 24-hour nurse to administer medication to keep her comfortable.
We all know how spirited Sandra is - she still has that fighting spirit and is not ready to give up! At this point it’s about quality of life and extending it as much as possible. To help with the fight there is a facility in Tijuana. The Immunity Therapy Center, has treatment options for cancer that is as advanced as Sandra’s cancer. Our goal of this GoFundMe page is to quickly raise funds for Sandra to be admitted to this facility as soon as possible. We’re asking for many helping hands – we need to raise up Sandra with our love and encouragement! Your generous support will surely help to slow the clock for Sandra and give her a bit more of the only thing she wants – more time. Please help us reach our goal and donate to our very own rose – Sandra Rose.
