Shocking and unexpectedly our younger sister Sandra Hudson is now battling a life-threatening disease. Just a few weeks ago, she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and has just recently started an aggressive treatment plan put together by her doctors. Sandra and her loving husband Travis are facing a tremendous challenge, both emotionally and financially. Their world changed instantly.
Sandra is a dedicated 3rd-grade teacher at Stone Ranch Elementary in the Poway Unified School District and has positively affected 1,000’s of students & parents during her career at Stone Ranch Elementary. She is a wonderful, caring and fun sister, a loving wife, daughter, and mother to a young daughter and son. This news is devastating to us all, including her family, her friends, and all of her students. Sandra has served the community quietly and faithfully for years and looks forward to returning to the classroom she loves as soon as she is able to. Our mother, father and us are closely standing by providing daily support to Sandra & Travis with resources, and others have reached out to express their wishes to help as well so we have decided to organize this effort to focus the outpouring of support and well wishes received so-far.
Treatment for Sandra and care for her family, along with the numerous hospital visits near and far will be expensive. Sick Leave is quickly disappearing. Due to the treatment and care needed, her husband Travis's ability to work is also being impacted. We are rallying around her, but we need to help them with their expenses and they won’t ask, so we are as her sister and brother. Their family is in need of help from the community so Sandra can continue to fight this disease and achieve her goal of winning this battle, return to normalcy and returning to her students and Teaching Partner Bridget.
