Our daughter, sister and friend Sandra had to be rushed into emergency surgery yesterday and we need our community to unite around her in prayer and support.
After feeling nauseous for weeks and suffering from many headaches, Sandra decided to head into Emergency Room on December 13th. The doctors peformed a CT scan and gave her the devastating news that she had an aneurysm. Doctors rushed her into surgery to treat the aneurysm. Upon investigation, the aneurysm was too large, and doctors decided it was necessary to open up Sandra's skull to remove it. With many prayers from family and friends, the doctor was successful. After an 8 hour surgery and over 55 stitches, Sandra was moved to recovery. Sandra is now conscious and as comfortable as can be expected, although slightly disoriented.
To anyone who knows or has met Sandra, knows that she is quick to share anything with you. Her time, her possessions, her love and support. Whether it's a simply a smile or even opening her home to you. Sandra is willing to always be there in support of others.
Now begins the long journey to recovery. As a single mom, Sandra alone supports her children Santana (15) and Sa'Miya (13) and the expenses of life will not stop while she recovers from this shocking tragedy. The doctors expect her to stay in the Neuro ICU for at least two weeks, followed by 4-6 weeks in a Rehab facility.
Please make a contribution to her recovery fund, which will go towards Sandra's bills and medical expenses. We will keep you updated and ask for your prayers.
With gratitude,
Team Gonzales.
