On August 8th, Sandra and Charlie’s lives were forever changed. What was meant to be a joyful road trip to Florida for vacation turned into a nightmare when their car rolled several times on the freeway before coming to a stop in the median. Both had to be cut from the wreckage of their completely totaled vehicle.

By nothing short of a miracle, they both survived. Sandra suffered multiple injuries, including a bruised lung, but was eventually released from the hospital. Charlie, however, sustained devastating, life-threatening injuries. He has already undergone surgery and remains hospitalized, fighting to recover and working through intensive rehabilitation. Due to the wreck, they lost all of their personal belongings including their phones, clothes, personal necessities, and one of Charlie's prized possession, his golf clubs.

Because of the severity of Charlie’s condition, he and Sandra must remain in Florida for the foreseeable future, far away from their home in Texas. This has left our family with the enormous responsibility of making sure Sandra has a safe place to stay close to the hospital, as well as support with transportation, meals, and ongoing medical expenses.

Adding to the challenge, Sandra was recently diagnosed with dementia, which means our family is taking turns traveling to Florida to stay with her, ensuring she’s cared for and never alone during this difficult time. While we are committed to doing everything we can for them, the financial burden is becoming overwhelming.
