Sandra Bouchard's House Fire

Hi, My name is Lorena and I'm starting this fundraiser for my good friend and next door neighbor, Sandra Bouchard (nee Siemons) and her 17 year old daughter, Ava.

At 4:15 am on Monday, January 30, 2023, a fire was started next door in the shed of a vacant house by an unknown person and spread to the house she rents on Woodlawn St in Kelowna, BC. 

I happened to see the fire as it began tearing through her house.

Sandra is a single mom of two kids, Ava and her older brother, Leif, (not living at home) whose husband passed away in 2015.

Luckily, Sandra and Ava escaped and were treated at Kelowna General Hospital for smoke inhalation. 2 of their cats were rescued from the fire and are being treated at a local Vet. The other 2 have been located! Sandra and Ava escaped the fire with nothing, not even shoes in -12°C!

I never thought I'd have to write this type of request. This is completely devastating for The Bouchards as they have lost everything, except the TV remote which the firefighters recovered. They are in shock as they lost all the prized possesions and art from Sandra's husband and Ava's dad.

If you know Sandra, or Ava, you know how absolutely lovely they are and how they do not deserve another tragedy in their lives.

They are so grateful right now.
