Sandpoint Teen’s Facial Reconstruction Surgery

Facial reconstruction surgery was performed on Monday July 8th which was successful. $5000 had to be paid up front in order to have the surgery done in Spokane. The family is now financially strapped and understandably stressed out. Anything would help and please feel free to share!! That will also help as well.

It’s been an extremely long past week or so but I want to (need to) send out a warning to all parents with kids in our area. Things are not like they used to be and it is quite shocking. I still can’t wrap my brain around everything but this is the extent of where bullying has gone. It’s not kids saying “you’re fat” or “you’re ugly” anymore. Another teenage girl sent texts saying she was gonna kick my daughter’s ass and I told her to ignore it. Well the girl saw her in broad daylight at Sandpoint City Beach, jumped out of the car and attacked her with a baseball bat hitting her twice in the head. She has facial reconstruction surgery tomorrow morning because her eye socket is broken, cheek bone shattered and sinus caved in.
Update as of 07/08/2019:
I have received multiple phone calls from law enforcement and also concerned members of our community over the past few days. Things seem to be happening a little quicker but no vindication as of yet. Reports have been made (several of them) and all is in the hands of others: prosecuting attorneys, judges, investigators, etc. One thing I will say is that our community members are a great support system! My daughter had surgery this morning and is currently at home recovering from facial reconstruction.
And just to clarify- the threatening text messages were/are coming from multiple numbers and clearly the same “gang” of friends to her number and mine. Very unsettling and scary. We are trying to push everything forward as hard as we can to get these so called “kids” under control and accountable but apparently it doesn’t happen as fast as everyone and us would like it to.
