Sandie’s Kidney Transplant Miracle
Donation protected
Sandie has end stage kidney disease and is currently on dialysis. She has already lost one kidney to a congenital kidney disease over 35 years ago. By God's grace, Sandie has been able to maintain renal function far longer than any medical professionals ever thought was possible. However, in 2018 her kidney function started to steadily decline, and in 2019 it was determined, for there to be any hope of a future, a kidney transplant must take place. Safe transplantation seemed very unlikely, and a perfect match, or even a close match, were also only going to be possible by God’s amazing grace and a true miracle. God was not caught unaware nor did he fail to have an answer to this need long before Sandie was ever born. Sometime ago, we learned that Sandie’s brother Mark was a match but not just a match, a perfect match! Normally, siblings have the strongest biological likelihood of matching, but Mark happens to be adopted. Surgery is scheduled for May 11th. Sandie and her family leave for Jacksonville on Thursday, May 6th to prepare for the transplant. Sandie and Dale will have to live in Jacksonville until sometime in late June.
Their daughter-in-law, my sister-in-law, and myself have created this gofundme after many of you reached out to ask how you can help and in the hopes that we can give Sandie and Dale more peace of mind regarding finances. Any funds donated will help with their cost of living while away from home as well as help maintain the cost of the medicine that Sandie will have to take indefinitely after a successful transplant. The medicine after insurance is still a hefty $2000 per month. All money received will go into a special account that we have set-up:
Sandie’s Kidney Transplant Expense Fund (with Sandie and Dale being the account holders)
