Hi, my names Elizabeth and I am a zookeeper. I have been given an amazing opportunity to travel to San Diego Zoo to be part of their bird department for an educational work placement for 2 weeks in September 2025.

I am so excited, however, San Diego is an expensive trip and hoping to raise funds to put towards my flights and accommodation.

Currently, in my role, I focus on the bird section with Birds of Prey and Parrots. This opportunity is huge for my role, as it means that I will be working with the Bird team at San Diego Zoo, learning all about their public displays, handling and training of animals. This will also enable me to work with some species that I have not previously had the opportunity to work with.
