Last month, Sandhya’s father Sunil Jha passed away. During his final days, Sandhya invited her community to stand with her and her parents. Hundreds of prayers, positive thoughts, and intentions held her family. Sandhya is quick to give and committed to a faithful pursuit of Beloved Community.
Sandhya was on a writing retreat when she was called home to be with her dad. Even though she didn’t get a $15,000 writing grant, and in the midst of her grieving, Sandhya still completed the Liberating Love Devotional.
Many people have asked how they can support Sandhya as she begins this long season of grief. Your financial support will allow her take on less consulting projects, take time off to spend with her mother, and travel to India with her father’s ashes.
After her father's death, Sandhya is feeling a deep sense of urgency to reconnect with the spiritual wisdom and practices of her ancestors. In particular, she is interested in the ways that those lost spiritual practices can help guide us in the work of dismantling white supremacy. For centuries it has robbed us of the joy and power of our spiritual connections to our ancestors. How might the reclamation of our ancestor's practices and stories provide us all with the wisdom we need to heal and reimagine our communities into wholeness? With your help she will be writing and reflecting on the ways reclaiming our ancestor's wisdom will heal, empower and guide us in the communal work of dismantling white supremacy.
Every contribution of money, prayer, intention, kindness, and act of peace in the world will help Sandhya to feel the love from her community.
