San Diego Lifeguard Keith Renzi needs your help!

“I just want to start by saying thank you so much and that seeing the amount of donations come in has made me extremely emotional. I never thought this would reach $20,000, and I don't know how to thank you all enough.

I am recovering well overall, however, I am looking at months before I am cast -free. I received bad news this week that I need hand surgery. I will be having this Friday the 16th. This difficult road is not over yet, but your support has made this so much easier. I will try to keep you all in the loop as much as possible, but at this time I personally don't have use of my hands. My mother, my girlfriend Jen, and friend Allie, have been taking care of me selflessly. The meal train has been invaluable and the text messages give me motivation.

****UPDATE about Keith ****** “He’s had many life threatening injuries that he’s been able to pull out of. It’s been long days with many doctors, nurses, surgeons, PTs, OTs and dietitians coming his way. He is now recovering at Kaiser out of the trauma center at UCSD. He has been enjoying time recovering with him immediate family and close friends. He has been so surprised and blown away of all the love and support he’s received from his lifeguard family and community.”

Since 2014, Keith Renzi has been serving the beaches and people of San Diego as a Lifeguard with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. Over the years Keith has established himself as an extremely dedicated and professional Lifeguard. He is a staple at Mission Beach, one of San Diego’s busiest beaches. He has been involved selflessly in hundreds of rescues and medical aids, always putting others before himself.

On Saturday May 27th, Keith was involved in a motorcycle accident where he sustained several serious injuries. He has a long road ahead of him and now the person who has helped so many needs our help. Looking for any donations to help Keith with any medical bills as well as anything else as he may need in this tough time.
