Fundraiser Alert - WE HAVE HIT OUR TARGET AND MORE!!

‘Samuel’s Relay Push’ has exceeded its target and raised a huge £16,193.

We could not have done this without the support of all the people who took part and the 266 family, friends and ‘unmet friends’ who donated. This was a real team effort and the sense of community and camaraderie was amazing. We are completely overwhelmed by your generosity and want to say a MASSIVE thank you.

We also want to say thank you to those people and businesses in our local community and along the route who supported our fundraiser, in particular The Lamb pub and The Stone Room who hosted and gave generously towards our celebration at the finishing line.

We are now in a position to order Samuel’s new wheelchair and fund his adapted vehicle (as well as donating £193.00 to Ingfield Friends) and will be forever grateful for your help. This is a day and experience that our family will never forget and we thank you for being part of it.

‘Samuel’s Relay Push - Brighton to Angmering’

Samuel is 15 years old and has Cerebral Palsy, relying on around-the-clock care. He cannot walk or sit-up, so he is dependent on a wheelchair with postural support and hoisting for all transfers.

Samuel’s now needs his next wheelchair and adapted van to accommodate his ‘exponential’ growth!!

Samuel has had Hoggi wheelchairs since he was 5 years old - the Hoggi Swingbo VTi wheelchair with Spex clinical seating, is tilt-in-space and lightweight with an all terrain option for when Samuel wants to go ‘off-piste’. Having a light-weight wheelchair, that meets Samuel’s postural needs, has been invaluable to his care and is even more important now that he is getting so much bigger. This wheelchair will cost in excess of £8k.

Samuel is also waiting for a new van with wheelchair access and a dropped-floor, to accommodate his height, with sufficient space for his toileting chair and other equipment when we go away. This comes through Motability, but there is a large down-payment of another £8k for the 5-year lease.

To raise funds towards these, Samuel is going to do a Sponsored ‘Relay Push’ from Brighton to Angmering on Sunday 12th November 2023, where different groups will push Samuel for 1 or 2 miles before handing over for the next leg of the journey.

If we are lucky enough to raise more than our target, additional money will be donated to ‘Ingfield Friends’, who raise funds for the direct and sole use of students at Ingfield Manor School. Ingfield Manor School is a special school for students with neurological and motor impairment such as Cerebral Palsy and associated medical and sensory needs.
