Samuels mission to jump!

Hi there my name is Alex, myself and Phil have a gorgeous little boy called Samuel. He is 5 years old and just started reception which he is loving. He's a happy, bright, loving little boy who doesn't let anything stop him. Samuel was diagnosed at 1 with Cerebral Palsy which means he can’t walk unaided. He uses a mixture of walking sticks, K walker and manual wheelchair to get around. Meaning some activities are out of bounds. We have raised more than enough funds for Samuels own Tiny Trax which is just amazing!!! It’s already changed all our lives for the better!! Thank you so so much!!! 

Samuel is having an operation called SDR Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy at Alderley Childrens hospital very soon. This complex surgical procedure is followed by an intensive rehabilitation period. The operation will permanently reduce the spasticity (stiffness) that is in Samuels body. To what degree we don’t know but he should see improvements in sitting, dressing, writing and hopefully independent walking

The window of improvement is usually 2 years to get maximum output from the procedure. We will get some nhs therapy but to make sure he gets full benefits he needs different types of private therapies which we have started pre operation to build strength. 

A peice of equipment called a Gallileo s35 (£6029) has proven results and we want to fund raise for this along with the private therapies also. Samuel deserves the world and we are hoping to achieve great things from his operation! Watch this space
