My name is Nikki Robinson, and I’m proud to share the story and legacy of my father, Samuel W. Stobbs, a man whose life was built on faith, service, and love for his community. As a beloved minister at New Covenant Christian Church, he poured his heart into helping others, not only through preaching the Word but also through his everyday acts of kindness, mentorship, and encouragement. Beyond the pulpit, my father was also a business owner and owned a gospel radio station, where he used the airwaves to inspire, uplift, and pray for our community. His voice reached countless people, offering hope, comfort, and a reminder that someone was always praying for them.
When my father passed away in 2022, I knew I had to find a way to carry his mission forward. In his honor, I have personally funded a scholarship for high school seniors who, like him, demonstrate a genuine heart for service and a commitment to making a positive difference in their communities.
This year, I’m reaching out to our friends, neighbors, and supporters to help grow this effort. Our goal is to award selected graduates from the Class of 2026 at New Covenant Christian School with funds to help cover the cost of college books, supplies, and other essentials. These scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college of each student’s choice to ensure they are used to support their educational journey.
While we know this scholarship can’t erase the full financial burden of college, it can provide a meaningful boost, a way of saying, “We see you, we value you, and we believe in you.” Your contribution will directly impact these students, helping to lighten their load and encourage them as they step into this exciting new chapter.
The Samuel W. Stobbs Community Service Scholarship will be awarded to selected students who have consistently demonstrated dedication, compassion, and generosity in their service to others, the very same values my father lived by every day.
I believe that when we invest in young leaders like these, we not only honor my father’s memory, but we also plant seeds of kindness and service that will continue to grow for years to come.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me keep my father’s legacy alive. Your generosity will not only shape the future of these students but also strengthen the communities they will go on to serve. Together, we can continue his legacy of faith, service, and love for others.
