Aloha to everyone for stopping by this page. This campaign is in memory of Samuel Rosa [Taco] and by all of his friends/family that loves him dearly. In Portland, Taco passed away in his sleep due to complications with pneumonia after getting sick. Sam was taken to Arkansas to be with the rest of his family and will have a funeral service on April 27th. He was 27 years young, raised in Aiea/Pearl City Hawaii, a house-stepper, an Orbit King, a Thunder Hoe Lightning Slut, NoHomo Circle. Taco was taken from us too soon, but his memory will live on with us forever. We have a couple events in the near future to remember him.
On April 27th at 1pm Hawaii time, there will be a Facebook live stream of his funeral service. Please stop by Sam's, mom's (Pam Rosa), or my page (Landon Switch) for the link. I will try to post an update here too as soon as it goes up, if it allows me.
Also on the 27th of April, we will be sharing Sam's love for comics by watching Avengers at 1030pm at Dole Cannery. We will be in rows H and G as it is reserved seating. I will personally be on the rooftop of the parking structure early around 9/930ish to meet up and have a few drinks.
August 18th will be Sam's BBQ Memorial at Kaka'ako Waterfront Park. We should be set up around 10/11am. Permit set, food and drinks will be potluck style, Sam's friends will be spinning music, and family will be there. Mama Rosa will be flying down for this event to meet all of us, his friends, and, of course, we will welcome her with open arms. Mom has declined help with Sam's services, but I thought we could at least raise a portion for her flight to come back to Hawaii for the memorial. It is the very least we can do for her and I know there are many of us that wants to do whatever we can.
Allocation of this campaign will be 70% to Mama Rosa for her traveling expenses, 20% toward memorial foods and drinks, and 10% toward a flower arrangement/picture memorial to have on display during the event. I will be posting updates here through each stage of the preparations we make leading up to the memorial. Everyone appreciates your contribution toward Sam, small and large, but even if you are unable to add to the proceeds, nothing will make Mama Pam and of us all happier than showing up on the 18th of August with your beautiful faces to be around friends and family as we remember Sam.
