The professional worldwide dancer and illustrious son of Arica, Samuel Morales, who has represented the city and the ballet national of chile in different countries of the world, denounced homophobic aggression in Antofagasta Chile.
Yesterday Samuel Morales was hospitalized with serious injuries and recovering from a 12-hours operation at the Antofagasta Hospital after presenting with cuts on his wrists, ankle, and knees.
Samuel Morales suffered the attack with a "machete in both hands and in the heel of Achilles with a deep wound.
After suffered a stab that pierced him, he arrived very decompensated to the hospital with a hysteria attack and led immediately to the trauma Operating room.
Samuel is a virtuoso, creator, and choreographer who created a new language in the modern dance world, his body was the pure personality of Samuel's soul, the way he could express his art as a source of inspiration for thousands around the world.
Because of terrific hatred and homophobic violence, Samuel and his creations can never be expressed in his own unique way, Samuel will remain paralyzed for the rest of his life.
As I write these words, Samuel is lying in a hospital in Chile and surrounded by a team that does everything to take good care of him, but in the near future, he will remain without financial support to allow him to return to a life in the most respectable way possible.
Beyond the existing injuries and disabilities, Samuel suffered and still suffers from depression and as a result, falls into drugs due to a very difficult family event that broke him.
The only hope for Samuel is to make sure that he can have access to intensive physical and psychological rehabilitation that will require many costs.
For Samuel and for millions of people in the world who suffer from the same hatred, contribute in any way you can.
All saving one person's life as if they saved a whole world.
