Samuel & Ashlee Longhenry Destruction Expense

Hi, my name is Ashlee. We are fundraising because a severe storm tore through our small hometown of Hartford, SD on May 12, 2022. My husband, myself, our 9 year old son and our three dogs were inside our mobile home when it hit us. Wind gusts reached over 100+ mph and destroyed our home, blowing the roof right off. We ran for cover but do not have the funds required to repair the home. We had been told that because we bought it for a low price, it wouldn’t be worth having insurance for.

We now have no home. We are trying to make back as much money as possible so we can get a down payment put together in order to purchase a home before school starts for our son this fall. What little we had we spent on the trailer. We were in the process of extensive renovations when the roof was lost.

Our families and our communities have been absolutely wonderful and we are so grateful for all of the help we’ve received. Thank you to all of you. Keep each other safe out there.
