Samuel Akwasi Funeral Preparation & Family Support

Hi, my name is Benson Uwhumiakpo (one of the family members of Samuel Akwasi). I am fundraising to support Samuel's parents to give Samuel a befitting burial.

A 13-year-old boy (Samuel Akwasi) passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch in Nottingham. The young footballer, who played for his club (FC Cavaliers under-13s), collapsed on Saturday (7th May 2022).

Everybody who knows Samuel describes him as an inspirational young man, a gift to our generation, a hero full of laughter who has impacted people around him with love and affection. Jason Cross, FC Cavaliers U12's manager, paid tribute, saying: "Samuel was just an amazing kid; he was just such a leader in his team, everybody loved him." The headteacher at The Trinity School, Aspley, Nottingham, where Samuel attended school, also paid tribute; he said: "Samuel was a gift to our school community, and we are so deeply grateful for the privilege of having him with us. He was a kind, friendly and very popular young man. He was a talented sportsman who loved life; he enjoyed school and was known for his huge and endearing smile."

We can testify that Samuel is a hero and a symbol of love. He brought so much joy into our family and the world at large. We will celebrate his memory forever.
