As many of you will be aware, the launch tour for my second album, Unearth Repeat, has been postponed for a year until May 2021, when hopefully gigs will be happening once more.
It's often the case that the people who make tours possible are overlooked, so I want to try to pay my band members and sound engineer something in compensation for the lost work in May and throughout the festival season.
Every penny donated here will be split five ways to attempt to compensate them for 19 lost gigs plus the festivals we were due to play at.
Without sugar coating it, the loss of the tour and festivals represents a loss in gig fees of about £4000 each, plus the already accrued costs of the tour (non refundable hotels, advertising, print and PR team) of around £2400 to me.
If we manage to make £2000, that will mean £400 each, which will replace a couple of gig's worth of fees and help my band out for a little while. Anything above that would be a huge bonus.
I am not for a minute expecting to make anything approaching the total amount back, but I want to offer my band and engineer something to help them through the next few months of no work, to thank them for their incredible work and to highlight that sound engineers and band members are often the people who can't fundraise on their own. Their names aren't on the posters but they are an amazing group of people and I owe them so much for bringing this album into the world.
Thank you so much for anything you give. I know that Jack, Ben, Louis and Andy will be so grateful for the financial support as well.
I also appreciate that the world is full of fundraising at the moment to keep the arts alive, so please feel no pressure to give anything.
All the best, and see you on the road as soon as possible!
