Meet Samson, a beautiful 12 y/o Golden Retriever with a charismatic personality was adopted 4-years ago and trained as a psychiatric service dog (PSD) for reducing hyper-vigilance through teamwork for his owner.

Over the past few years, Samson revitalized Matt's emotional composure by providing companionship and motivation to endure what otherwise would have been debilitating social issues caused by PTSD.

In October of 2017, Samson suffered from his first ACL tear in his right knee, resulting in a need for TPLO surgery to reconstruct and stabilize his right knee in January of 2018, recovering in April 2018.



On Saturday, April 28th, Samson tore his other ACL in the left knee while camping in the Sequoia National Forrest and will require the same TPLO surgery. Tearing both ACL's is common for retrievers his age. 

His owner/handler Matt is currently insured for up to 75% of Samson's medical costs but is unable to pay the full $4,200 out of pocket before being able to submit a claim for reimbursement, while seeking a new job.

Matt is committed to the health and longevity of Samson's life and is willing to repay 75% anyone who contributes $100 or more with the partial reimbursement offered by the Healthy Paws insurance coverage.

Time is of the essence, as Samson is in critical pain after his most recent ACL tear to the left knee, whereas his last injury in 2017 was less painful and holistic recovery was unsuccessful, leading to surgery 60-day later.
