Sam's Corner in Ring Against Cancer

Donation protected
This campaign is dedicated to my dad, the most supportive person I've met.

This is part of my attempt to help support him this time!

There are so many stories I could tell you to help explain who my dad is , but I know I am only one voice in the many who would jump to say endless kind things about him.

My dad grew up in Spokane, WA and still lives there to this day.   He'll tell you he's traveled enough to know Spokane is his home and where his heart resides.  This city is the place where he raised hell in his younger years and later ended up raising two (wonderful, might I add) children, myself and my older brother.  There are countless stories, memories and faces that I cannot account for here, but if you know Sam then you are bound to have a few in mind.  He's a softball player, a fisher, a Harley fanatic, a Seahawks fan, and more.
Most importantly Sam is a kind, patient, quick to smile, generous and loving man.

Recent years have brought on a roller coaster of hard times and beautiful times for us.   We experienced a deep and overwhelming grief when we were told my brother was killed in a car crash.  We struggled to redefine our family and perservere.

My dad retired and fought to find happiness in his life.  After a few years, he found a light in his heart again after meeting a wonderful woman who brings smiles to his face.  Anne Marie and her family, near and far, have all be amazing to Sam!

Although his arthritic hip is a concern, it hadn't stopped him from enjoying his life.  In fact, not much has slowed him down.  Even this cancer diagnosis will not keep him down for long!

We are raising money to help pay for all the expenses that come with being diagnosed with Cancer.
It was a long wait over a couple of months with doctors in Spokane to get a confirmed diagnoses of esophageal cancer.   Myself, having lived in Seattle for several years, knew that my dads best fighting chance to stay ahead of the cancer was to get him to the other side of the state for some of the regions best healthcare.  Find out more here!
Boy, was that the right decision.  Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is ranked 5th in nation!
Not only is the treatment for the disease better, but the treatment as human beings struggling through this fight is improved.  My dad now has doctors and nurses calling him daily to check on his status instead of telling him he can't get in to see someone for 3 weeks.

The only down side to being in Seattle to treat his cancer is that it will be more expensive.  The donations received here will go towards keeping him fed through his J-tube nutrition since swallowing regular food is impossible, towards medical equipment, towards bills, prescription costs and other direct expenses.  Just as important, donations will go towards keeping Sam's supportive figures by his side.  This fight is not done alone.  Your donations will help us stay together and stay strong by helping us pay for lodging, mileage, gas, etc expenses.

We are hoping to raise the funds by the time my dads big surgery comes up in April of 2016.

We sincerely appreciate donations of all shapes and sizes.

Even if you aren't able to give anything directly to our goal here: a share or a Like can help reach more people who may know Sam and want to contribute.

Most importantly, a supportive comment can truly warm the heart because it's about staying together with love in our hearts.

My dad and I say to eachother, I love you bigger than the universe, and I know the universe has a lot more love to give back to my dad in this time of need.
