Every day 460 people die of cancer in the UK. Every 90 seconds someone is diagnosed. Cancer does not discriminate, anyone, including you or a loved one, can fall ill. Despite this, the UK falls among the worst in waiting times for cancer treatment as of June 2024.
Penguins Against Cancer (PAC) is an exceptional organisation which aims to provide financial support for those suffering from cancer. Founded by alumni of Guys Hospital Rugby Club (the oldest rugby club in the world), PAC has raised over £750,000 for families across the UK burdened with cancer. Its vital support has changed lives for the better, and the wide network of alumni, students and supporters which form its foundation consistently aim to aid this endeavour.
Sam’s summit of Kilimanjaro for PAC furthers this support. Entirely self funded, your generous support by joining the large and growing PAC community will be matched pound-for-pound by its organisers and head directly to those who need it most.
Cancer and the Penguins are deeply personal to Sam. As a former Guy’s Hospital 2nd XV Captain and someone with several family members affected by cancer, the fight against it and this challenge are more than a simple fundraiser. His yomp up the 5 day Umbwe route (the steepest trail with most demanding acclimatisation to the 5,895m of elevation) is both a physical and mental battle against cancer.
Join PAC today, whether through a one time donation or a monthly standing order, every donation can be clearly tracked and displayed through regular updates of the charity's work. Meaning your money is going exactly where you want it, to the people who need it most.
Thank you for your generosity in advance,
Sam
