Hi everyone.

I am a new resident to the Bay Area, and I commute from San Jose to San Francisco everyday for work.
Today I had the unfortunate luck to have my RECENTLY PURCHASED BIKE STOLEN from in front of my house. I had properly locked my bike, but who ever stole it, clipped it with cutters and left my lock behind as a symbolic slap on the face.

...some of you may roast me for setting up a GofundMe for this, but in all honesty I just had to give this a try. I feel my innocence was stolen, and my hard worked money just ripped away.

I am a parent of 2 kids that takes care of all of my families expenses and supports my mother as well. I barely make it check to check. I had saved up for a long time to get this bike in hopes to not only help me with my commute, but also help with my mental and physical health.

I don’t have much of a support system or a mental support system while living up here and this bike had given me a new drive and motivation. Cycling had truly begun to help with a lot of my mental health and I felt optimistic. Myself and my family are survivors of the Gilroy shooting. We were there, ground zero. Since that terrifying day, I have not been myself and suffer from PTSD. I am working on this and i had found that cycling would have helped me channel through my depression.

Now, I am left with nothing but this empty feeling of someone simply thinking it was okay to take this away from me.

my loss isn’t your responsibility, and i do not obligate anyone to feel for me, but I simply reach out in hopes to see that perhaps I could find some support, community and/or moral support to help put this behind me.

I am only asking for help with buying the same bike, and get back on my program again. I don’t need or want anything more than that and what I had my heart set on as being a part of my mental and spiritual salvation.
